Do It Yourself Foam Sealant

We men want everything done right, and if you want it done right, you got to do it yourself. Why pay hundreds of
dollars to get the drains fixed or get a new cupboard installed when we can do it ourselves? We can do it cheaper
and better. At least that’s what we all say. But some things should really be left to the professionals. You
probably don’t want your basement to get more flooded than it actually is. And you really do not want to get
electrocuted. So do the right thing and call the professionals, they are there for a reason.

But sometimes there are things that cannot wait or some things simple enough that we can actually do ourselves.
Things like cracks in the walls, rodent or insect holes that need to be patched up soon can be done easily with
foam sealants. Foam sealant can be used in cracks and crevices left from construction or where pipes and walls do
not meet a close tolerance. Places where air is escaping and letting the cold air from the air conditioner or warm
air from the heater out needs to be sealed fast.

12-Ounce Aerosol Can
Superior Industries provide the Foam Seal, an aerosol expandable foam sealant. The Foam Seal comes in a can and
can yield 0.5 cubic feet of foam which expands to 200 - 300% when fully cured and expanded. It comes with an
extension applicator so you can reach hard to reach areas and small holes.
When applied, the foam expands into a safe plastic after a few minutes and will cure from 8 to 24 hours. The
foam does not harden and stays semi-pliable. This is very effective for heat and sound insulation. You can seal
mouse holes and insect paths in just minutes. The Foam Seal is non-toxic and is odorless when cured so it is safe
to use anywhere in the house. This is a good tool to use if you are planning to layout wires along the walls within
your house because you can paint over the foam. It is smooth when it hardens so it makes painting over it easy.
One thing to note with the use of the sealant is that it will harden after a few hours after being opened. So
you must first find all the areas of the house you need to use the Foam Seal with and mark them out so you do not
forget the locations before you actually open the can for use. This makes sure that you at least make use of most
of the contents of the can. It is around $20 a can make sure you do not waste any.
